About
The purposes of my blog is to introduce my home Cebu. For those people who want to live in the tropical paradise of the Philippines. We offer a simple lifestyle but with an opportunity for adventure, and all with an astonishingly low cost of living. It is a peaceful and wonderful place for retirement or a tropical retreat. We have countless beautiful beaches many of which have been develop into five-star resorts but most remain natural and inexpensive.

Where is Cebu and What’s There?
Cebu is the second largest City in the Philippines. By air we are a one-hour flight from Manila and an hour-and-a-half from Hong Kong. Malls are much like you would see in the U.S. or in Other Asian Country. They have large department stores, boutiques, movie theatres, fast food, and some nicer restaurants. The malls also have great coffee shops – yes we have Starbucks – where you can read a newspaper and watch people. Many pretty faces of lady that you can see at the malls in Cebu. No wonder the coffee shops are full of guys who consume a lot of caffeine, but never seem to ever finish reading their newspapers. Cebu offers a widest range of entertainment options from beach-going, diving, and golf to varied restaurants, concerts, and exciting nightlife.

In this part of the world we don’t have seasons like many other places. Our seasons range from wet to dry – with the temperature always being warm. Cebu’s weather is best from December to May, when the weather turns a little cooler and dry. The rainy season typically begins in late June or early July. Fortunately for us, being outside the typhoon belt, Cebu is seldom visited by typhoons.

Cebu is a Safe Place
Cebu is protected from typhoons and tsunami as a result of the island’s position relative to large surrounding islands that are just over the horizon – close enough to block the devastating impact severe storms and tidal waves. The islands of Negros to our west and Lyte to our East bear the brunt of severe weather that might otherwise threaten Cebu.
